Frequently asked questions
Starting therapy often brings up questions or uncertainties. Below are some common ones. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, you’re welcome to get in touch.
Do you only offer online sessions?
Yes. I currently work exclusively online.
Online therapy allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space, wherever you are. Many people find this more convenient and grounding than travelling to a therapy room.
Is online therapy effective?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face work for many issues.
What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, not the format.
How long does therapy last?
Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific, while others choose longer-term therapy.
We’ll review this together and move at a pace that feels right for you.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis or label to come to therapy.
If something feels difficult, confusing, or painful, that’s enough to begin.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential and treated with care, in line with BACP ethical guidelines and UK law.
There are a small number of standard exceptions around safety, which we can talk through clearly at the start.
